A Traveler's Journal
Pull into the station, it always amazes me how the time flies by
Just staring outside.
Stopped keeping track of the days of the week two weeks ago.
Does it matter if I know?
And today everything I see will be new to me.
I strap my pack on my back and write the next chapter of my story.
Every city and every town has a personality all its own
Expressed in brick and stone.
Some welcome me warmly while others seem to push me away
Like they don't want me to stay.
But regret is a feeling I chose to leave behind.
I thank each experience for the wisdom it offers and I make it mine.
And I ask myself have I ever felt this free?
Every moment of every day every choice is up to me,
But only when I'm alone again.
Learn to listen to your instincts and put your faith in them
Like a trusted friend.
Indecision can be your worst enemy
But only if you let it be.
And staring over the red-tiled roofs of the old town
It doesn't even occur to me that the sun might ever go down.
And I ask myself have I ever felt this free?
Every moment of every day every choice is up to me,
But only when I'm alone again.
I’m alone again…
I’m alone again again…
I’m alone again again…
So you want to know don't I ever get lonely
with only me for company?
I suppose I do feel alone every now and then a bit
but I welcome it.
Cause when my traveling's over and I have no place left to roam
It will make it that much sweeter to see all of my friends back home.
And I ask myself have I ever felt this free?
Every moment of every day every choice is up to me,
And I ask myself have I ever felt this free?
Every moment of every day every choice is up to me,
But only when I'm alone again.
