The Story

Making music has been a lifelong ambition. The songs on these two albums were written over the last 30 years, with a guitar and a pencil. At the time, I had the songs, but not the production skills, the budget, or the technology to bring them to life the way I imagined. So they sat on old recordings, hard drives, and in my head for decades.

Making these albums felt like collaborating with my younger self. These are songs I wrote so long ago, and now I finally have the tools to realize my vision for them.

How these were made

I know AI music is controversial. But in my case, AI didn’t write these songs. I wrote them myself, the old-fashioned way. AI helped me produce them. My process was to start with recordings I’d made years earlier and use Suno to recreate them as faithfully as possible, then iterate on the production until they matched what I always heard in my head.

I’m incredibly grateful that these tools exist, because they let me create something that has been financially and technically out of reach for most of my life, for a tiny fraction of what it would have cost.
